North Allegheny, three others advance to WPIAL Class AAA girls golf finals

Three-time defending champion North Allegheny led a quartet of teams that advanced to Thursday’s WPIAL Class AAA girls golf championships at Cedarbrook Golf Course in Belle Vernon.
The Tigers topped the field of 10 teams at Monday’s team semifinals at Rolling Hills Golf Course. Caroline Wrigley’s 3-under 70 and Bella Walters’ even-par 73 helped North Allegheny register a team score of 310, 32 strokes better than second-place Upper St. Clair.
Mt. Lebanon (358) and Penn-Trafford (360) also advanced to the WPIAL team finals, while Fox Chapel, Butler, Blackhawk, Franklin Regional, Mars and Pine-Richland were eliminated.
