Gateway baseball, softball players earn postseason plaudits

Five members of the Gateway baseball team were recognized with first-team honors in Section 3-5A after helping the Gators to a 12-6 season.

The first-team all-section selections included senior infielder Kris Dick, senior outfielder Brady Walker, junior pitcher Ethan Frenchik, senior catcher Caleb Lehman and senior designated hitter Justin Stancovich.

Senior infielder Mike Vojnik was a second-team selection.

Softball

Gateway softball players Kayla Gratton, a sophomore infielder, senior outfielder Dannielle Taylor, and freshman catcher Emma Kennedy were second-team all-section selections in Section 2-5A.

Sophomore pitcher Maura Ryan was an honorable mention.
