Norwin softball players earn postseason honors

A pair of Norwin junior softball players were recognized for their efforts this season with first-team honors on the all-section team for Section 2-6A.
Infielder Hailee Culbertson and outfielder Alex Brentzel were honored.
In addition, Brian Mesich was named coach of the year in Section 2 after guiding the Knights to a 12-8 record and trip to the WPIAL consolation game.
Norwin lost to Hempfield in the WPIAL semifinals and to Baldwin in the third-place game.
Senior outfielder Megan Miller, junior catcher Sara Russell, junior designated player Makenzie Mihalko and sophomore infielder Vitoria Shimko were second-team selections.
Baseball
Senior infielder Nick Zona was a first-team all-section selection for Section 2-6A.
Freshman outfielder Jayden Walker was a second-team selection, and junior infielders Logan Liebdzinski and Owen Sabol and junior pitcher Billy Kerston were honorable mentions.
Girls lacrosse
Norwin's Maura Columbus, Magen Polczynski, Kiana Francis and Riley Miller were named to the Section 2-AAA all-section team.
