Mars boys lacrosse advances to PIAA semifinals

The Mars boys lacrosse team is state semifinal-bound for a second straight season.
The Fightin' Planets defeated Palmyra, 13-6, in the PIAA Class AA quarterfinals Saturday.
Mars took a 6-2 lead in the first half and rolled to the victory.
Andrew Moyer and Mike Doyle each had three goals and Hayden Vasbinder and Anthony Grieco scored twice. Will Scurci made 14 saves in goal.
Mars will play District 1 third-place finisher Strath Haven in the PIAA semifinals Tuesday at a time and site to be determined.
In Class AAA, Pine-Richland's boys team dropped an 11-6 decision to Manheim Township.
And in the Class AA girls tournament, Quaker Valley fell to Susquehannock, 13-8.
