Deer Lakes sweeps Pine-Richland volleyball

Deer Lakes' top two hitters helped the team post a nonsection victory.

Tyler Osselborn recorded a team-high 13 kills, and Dan Hutchinson added a dozen more to help Deer Lakes sweep Pine-Richland, 3-0, in a nonsection match Thursday night.

Tyler Noble added 13 digs for the Lancers (8-1), who won 25-20, 25-15 and 25-18.

Girls lacrosse

Peters Township 12, Fox Chapel 11 (OT) — Emily Anderson scored her fifth goal of the night in overtime as Peters Township knocked off Fox Chapel in a nonsection matchup.

Kate Goodwin scored seven goals to lead the Foxes.

Marissa Hardiman added two goals, and Makenna Blazer and Mary Ellis chipped in with scores for Fox Chapel.

Boys lacrosse

South Fayette 10, Freeport 9 — Freeport scored twice in the final minute, but its late rally fell short in a nonsection match.

Sean Fennel scored four times for the Yellowjackets. Garrett Schaffhauser had three goals, and Brennon Riley had two.
