High school roundup: Jeannette boys roll over Riverview

Tre Cunningham scored 31 points, including four 3-pointers, to help Jeannette to a 67-37 victory over Riverview (2-19) in a Section 1-2A boys basketball game.

Marcus Barnes and Jackson Pruitt each finished with 10 points for Jeannette (17-3).

Riverview was led by Noah Black with 13 points, followed by Gideon Deasy, who had 11.

Baldwin 55, Seton LaSalle 45 — In nonsection play, Nick Fiumara scored 18 points as Baldwin (12-10) beat Seton LaSalle (15-5). George Mike IV scored 22 points for Seton LaSalle.

Chartiers Valley 60, Clairton 54 — Joe Pipilio hit eight 3-pointers on way to scoring 30 points as Chartiers Valley (8-13) defeated Clairton (16-5) in nonsection play. Sean Banas added 15 points in the win, and Koran Boyd's 20 points paced Clairton.

Franklin Regional 45, CW North Catholic 29 — Mike Bartolacci had 11 points, and Hunter Stonecheck added 10 for Franklin Regional (18-4).

Gateway 42, North Allegheny 29 — John Paul Kromka scored 14 points, and RJ Stevenson added 10 as Gateway (11-10) defeated North Allegheny (8-14) in a low-scoring nonsection contest. Mike Iuzillino scored 11 points to lead Gateway, which was held to 12 points in the second half.

Greensburg Salem 72, Albert Gallatin 59 — Marvel McGowan's 23 points led four Greensburg Salem players in double figures in its nonsection win against Albert Gallatin. Jack Obeldorf and Jeff Mankins each scored 12 points for Greensburg Salem (11-10), and Dante Parsons added 11. Nate English scored a 31 points for AG (12-10).

Knoch 38, Steel Valley 35 — Julian Sanks scored 18 points to lead Knoch (7-14) to a nonsection win against Steel Valley (9-12). Camden Polak scored 14 points for Steel Valley, which outscored Knoch, 18-7, in the fourth quarter to pull within three.

West Allegheny 71, Keystone Oaks 64 — Jackson Faulk scored 24 points as West Allegheny (10-11) overcame a seven-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter to defeat Keystone Oaks (8-14) in nonsection play. Dre Baldwin and Grant Nicholson added 14 and 12 points, respectively. Vonte Mitchell paced Keystone Oaks with 21 points, Josh Snell added 16 points and Frank Stumpo 14 points.

Girls basketball

Mt. Lebanon 55, Hickory 37 — Alyssa Hyland scored 18 points to lead Mt. Lebanon (11-10) to victory over Hickory. Mt. Lebanon held Hickory scoreless in the second quarter on way to a 28-9 halftime lead.

Neshannock 52, Central Valley 52 — In nonsection play, Bree Dean scored 16 points to lead Neshannock (18-3) to victory at Central Valley (15-4). Ellina Delillo added 12 points for Neshannock, which trailed by five at the half. Allyson Kirby scored 15 points, and teammate Kaelyn Underwood added 14 points for Central Valley.

Washington 70, Monessen 29 — Carley Allen scored 21 points to lead Washington (14-6) to the nonsection win against Monessen (3-18).

West Greene 55, California 45 — McKenna Lampe scored 15 points, and Madison Lampe added 12 as West Greene (20-1) used a strong second half to beat nonsection opponent California (13-7). West Greene, which trailed by one at halftime, outscored California in the second half, 32-21. Bailey Vig scored a game-high 16 points for California. West Greene set a school record for either the boys or girls teams with 20 wins in a season.

Winchester Thurston 62, West Middlesex 52 — Gia Thorpe scored 31 points and recorded nine steals to lead Winchester Thurston (16-4) over West Middlesex at the Klash of the Catholics at Kennedy Catholic. Ayanne Towsnend added 18 points and 10 rebounds for Winchester Thurston, which won its eighth straight.

Wrestling

Latrobe (7-4) won its fourth title at the William Jenkins Duals over the last 10 years. Latrobe won 47-34 over Butler in the final match and beat Carrick, 66-17, in the semifinals.
