Norwin teams take 4th at WCCA swim meet

The Norwin boys and girls swim teams competed at the annual WCCA championship meet Saturday at Derry. Both teams finished fourth in the overall standings.

Earning medals for the girls team were the 200 medley relay of Kristy Juart, Elizabeth Smeltzer, Courtney Kosanovic and Jordan Kutchak, second (1:54.86); Smeltzer, third, 200 IM (2:18.67), fourth, 100 breast (1:11.42); Kosanovic, fourth, 200 IM (2:19.02), third, 100 fly (1:01.23); the 200 free relay of Juart, Sarah Todaro, Kosanovic, Kutchak, fourth (1:43.59); Juart, fifth, 100 back (1:03.68); and the 400 free relay team of Todaro, Allie Plassio, Caitlin Kosanovic, Smeltzer, sixth (3:55.17).

Boys medalists included the 200 medley relay team of Phong Tran, Joey Astrab, Brandon Pizzuto and Ethan Tulenko, fourth (1:42.18); Tulenko, third, 50 free (22.36), second, 100 free (48.79); 200 free relay team of Austin Livsey, Tran, Astrab and Tulenko, fourth (1:34.31); and Astrab, fifth, 100 breast (1:03.02).
