Penn Hills let a student from Serra Catholic wrestle several matches this season for its team despite not being enrolled in the district, WPIAL executive director Tim O'Malley said.
As a result, the WPIAL board wants to hear Feb. 19 from Penn Hills' athletic director and principal.
Penn Hills self-reported the violation of PIAA eligibility rules. The student, who lives within the Penn Hills district, took part in two tournaments and competed against Plum in a section match, O'Malley said.
Under PIAA bylaws, Penn Hills is required to forfeit that match, but the individual bouts won by Indians wrestlers will be upheld.
Plum won the match 27-25.
