High school roundup: Central Catholic boys win 6th straight game

The Central Catholic boys soccer team continued to roll through Section 3-AAAA play, earning a 1-0 win over Allderdice (6-5-1, 5-3-1) on Monday night in Oakland.
Michael Gemmell scored on an assist from Dan Schearer as Central Catholic (7-2-2, 7-0-1) won its sixth straight game.
The teams played to a scoreless tie on Sept. 12.
Canon-McMillan 4, Baldwin 0 — Jonah Moore tallied a hat trick as No. 4 Canon-McMillan (7-3, 4-3) won in Section 2-AAAA.
Upper St. Clair 2, Bethel Park 0 — Colin Sibley and Sean Korpics scored to lift Upper St. Clair (5-4-1, 5-2) to a Section 2-AAAA victory.
Moon 3, Ambridge 0 — In Section 2-AAA, Yanni Smallis scored twice and Pat Schipani added a goal as Moon (3-4-2, 2-4-1) earned a victory.
Chartiers Valley 8, West Mifflin 0 — Nate Wood had a hat trick as No. 5 Chartiers Valley (9-3, 6-1) picked up a win in Section 4-AAA.
Keystone Oaks 5, East Allegheny 1 — Nate Taylor scored twice as No. 3 Keystone Oaks (10-1, 7-1) clinched a playoff berth in Section 1-AA.
Obama Academy 7, Steel Valley 3 — Alex Woodworth had three goals and an assist and Ruben Schwartz had two goals and three assists as Obama Academy (8-2, 6-2) secured a Section 1-AA win.
CW North Catholic 9, Eden Christian 0 — Joe Kearney, Nick Milas and Ryan Augustine all had two goals as No. 3 Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic (12-0, 10-0) won in Section 3-A.
Bentworth 4, Brentwood 2 — Wyatt Selvoski scored twice, and Brian Hustava and Levi Jordan scored as Bentworth (9-4, 7-3) won in Section 4-A. ShaShak Gurang and Jim Cavanaugh scored for Brentwood (6-5, 5-5).
