THEY SAID IT:

“Last year was a big disappointment for us. I mean, it was a good season, but it ended really badly. I definitely want to make it down there again, redeem our team and hopefully win a cup this year.” – Chartiers Valley forward Justin Sabilla on the Colts’ mission to avenge their loss in the 2011 Penguins Cup Semifinals

“We don’t have anybody standing out that is just going to carry the team themselves. We have to play as a team, and I keep telling the kids that. Do your job. Rely on your teammate. Move that puck around as a team and everything will be fine.” Freeport head coach Dave Hepler on how the Yellowjackets can find success in the 2012 postseason

That wraps up this edition of “PIHL Notebook,” but check back every Monday from now through March for the most current news from around the league. First, though, Adam Hoerner and guest host Brandon Rebel have another episode of “The PIHL Power Play” on Wednesday night at 8:00. Joining us this week will be PIHL Commissioner Ed Sam to talk about the season so far and the annual Outdoor Charity Series beginning this week. Plus, Quaker Valley forward Kevin Kenny will chime in on the outdoor experience and his team’s resurgence in Class A. The exclusive home for the 2012 Penguins Cup Playoffs is the MSA Sports Network!
