The Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Softball League regular season concludes Sunday with four doubleheaders.
West Allegheny (11-1) and Mt. Lebanon (10-2) meet at Mt. Lebanon’s Middle Field with the regular-season title on the line.
Baldwin (3-11) and Bethel Park (9-5) played two games Wednesday to close out their regular season. Bethel Park swept the doubleheader, taking Game 1, 14-4, and Game 2, 22-5.
Bethel Park sits in third place in the team standings, one-half game ahead of North Allegheny (8-4).
North Allegheny hosts Montour (7-5) at 2 and 4 p.m. at Marshall Middle School.
Each team accumulated points in the team standings with games played throughout the regular season. A team win is worth two points, and simply playing a game is worth one point.
The WPISL playoff tournament will be next weekend, Oct. 19-20, and all 10 teams are eligible to compete for the title.
The first round and quarterfinals will be Saturday, with the semifinals at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, and the championship game at 6.
