Shaler poised to hire boys basketball coach Brandon Sensor

Former Chartiers Valley boys basketball coach Brandon Sensor is close to returning to the WPIAL.
Sensor is the recommended candidate to be hired at Shaler, according to the agenda for Wednesday’s school board meeting. He would replace Rob Niederberger, who resigned in April after nine seasons.
Shaler is coming off a 25-4 season that saw the Titans reach the WPIAL and PIAA semifinals in Class 5A.
In Sensor, the team gets a coach who went 88-46 in six seasons at Chartiers Valley with an appearance in the WPIAL final. Sensor resigned in February, citing a lack of administrative support.
“This is by no means the end of my coaching journey,” Sensor said when he resigned. “I believe I have a lot left to give. I am excited for my next opportunity and having full support of an athletics department to lead a successful program.”
His best season was in 2020-21 when the Colts went 22-4 and finished as WPIAL 5A runners-up.
