High school roundup for Oct. 18, 2023: North Allegheny girls wrap up undefeated regular season

Kieran Shannon and Abigail Stager scored two goals apiece as North Allegheny (18-0) wrapped up an undefeated regular season with a 6-0 win over Norwin (4-13) in nonsection girls soccer Wednesday night.

Blackhawk 1, Quaker Valley 0 – Jeallyn Martin scored the winning goal and Kaley Coakely recorded the shutout as Blackhawk (8-9) beat Quaker Valley (10-5-1) in a nonsection match.

Conemaugh Township 7, Ligonier Valley 0 – Ashlyn Fetterman had a hat trick and Izzy Slezak scored twice to pace Conemaugh Township (15-1) in a win over Ligonier Valley (1-17).

East Allegheny 6, Carrick 1 – Madison Fabrizi had six goals to lead East Allegheny (3-10) past Carrick in nonsection action.

Elizabeth Forward 5, Charleroi 0 – Brooklyn Baldensperger had a hat trick and Elizabeth Forward (14-3) topped Charleroi (14-2) in a nonsection contest.

Freeport 4, Seton LaSalle 1 – Camryn Woods scored a pair of goals to lead Freeport (14-1-1) to a nonsection win over Seton LaSalle (9-8). Nia DiSanti and Sam Liput added a goal each for the Yellowjackets. Sydney Morgan scored for the Rebels.

Trinity 2, Waynesburg 1 – Abby Higgins scored the winning goal in the final minute of regulation and Ella Ward also found the net as Trinity (2-13) beat Waynesburg (11-5) in a nonsection match. Kaley Rohanna scored for the Raiders.

Boys soccer

Carlynton 3, Beth-Center 2 – Mateo Carrasco, Wilson Choate and Gabe DiPietro scored to help Carlynton (10-6-1) edge Beth-Center (11-7) in a nonsection matchup of playoff-bound teams. Wyatt Pash and Nekoda Bundy scored for the Bulldogs.

Conemaugh Township 10, Ligonier Valley 2 – Matthew Salancy and Hunter Wright scored for Ligonier Valley (5-11-1) in a nonsection loss to Conemaugh Township.

Mt. Lebanon 2, South Fayette 1 – Ben Bowen scored the tying goal late in regulation and Jack O’Brien netted the winner in overtime to lead Mt. Lebanon (7-10-1) past South Fayette (10-3-3) in a nonsection matchup.

Mt. Pleasant 4, Hempfield 1 – Luke Rivardo, Grant Zahrobsky, Luke Domasky and Austin Ulery scored for Mt. Pleasant (13-4) in a nonsection victory over Hempfield (0-18).

Seton LaSalle 7, California 0 – Jack Billick had a hat trick and Nick Cherry preserved the shutout as Seton LaSalle (13-2-1) blanked California (4-13) in a nonsection match.

Field hockey

Peters Township 4, Mt. Lebanon 1 – Isabella Elm and Anna Kokoszynski scored two goals apiece to lead Peters Township (8-2-2) to a Section 3A win.

Girls volleyball

Allderdice 3, Obama Academy 0 – Allderdice swept Obama Academy, 25-19, 25-11, 25-8, to secure its 10th consecutive City League title.

Laurel 3, Riverside 1 – Dakota Weldon, Tori Atkins and Kayla Carlson had nine kills apiece and Hailey Collins dished out 20 assists to lead Laurel to a Section 1-2A.

St. Joseph 3, Highlands 1 – Kate Giannetta served for 10 points and Jillian Bloch had seven service points to help St. Joseph beat neighboring Highlands in a nonsection match.
