Surprise, surprise, as a couple of eyebrow raisers in Week 6 of the WPIAL football season shook up the top half of the Trib 10 this week.
Central Catholic’s stay at the top of the power rankings lasted only two weeks as the Vikings were dropped by defending district and state Class 5A champion Pine-Richland.
It had been 36 years since Trinity last defeated Thomas Jefferson. However, the Hillers stunned the Jaguars last week, dropping TJ out of the No. 3 spot.
The big winners in the aftermath of those two upsets were undefeated Peters Township, moving from No. 5 to No. 2, and unbeaten Aliquippa moving up a spot to become the third No. 1 team in the power rankings this season following 6A powers North Allegheny and Central Catholic.
Here are the latest Trib 10 power rankings with record and last week’s ranking followed by upcoming opponent in Week 7. These rankings have zero classification boundaries.
