WPIAL Class 3A football roundup: No. 2 Elizabeth Forward takes down Shady Side Academy

Charlie Nigut ran for 90 yards and three touchdowns as No. 2 Elizabeth Forward picked up a 42-14 win over Shady Side Academy (1-3) in a Class 3A nonconference football game Friday night.

Ryan Messina added 124 passing yards and a touchdown for the Warriors (4-0).

Avonworth 45, Hopewell 6 – Dimitri Velisaris rushed for 196 yards and three touchdowns as No. 3 Avonworth (4-0, 1-0) beat Hopewell (1-3, 0-1) in the Western Hills Conference. Carson Bellinger threw for 108 yards and three touchdowns.

Seton LaSalle 49, Quaker Valley 0 — Michael Pastirik threw for 241 yards and four touchdowns to lead Seton LaSalle (3-1, 1-0) to the Western Hills Conference win against Quaker Valley (0-4, 0-1). Khalil Taylor caught four passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns.

East Allegheny 41, South Allegheny 20 — East Allegheny (2-2) defeated South Allegheny (1-3) for the nonconference win.

Deer Lakes 48, Greensburg Salem 14 — Deer Lakes (3-1) fell behind by a touchdown early then reeled off 48 unanswered points to defeat Greensburg Salem (1-3) in a nonconference matchup.

West Mifflin 48, Ringgold 0 — Rich Fix ran for 160 yards and a touchdown, caught two scoring passes and returned a punt 64 yards for another TD as Class 3A West Mifflin (1-3) defeated Class 4A Ringgold (0-4). Armond Hill added 101 rushing yards and a 76-yard touchdown.

Albert Gallatin 36, Uniontown 0 — Cyrus Potkul rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown as Albert Gallatin (1-3) beat Uniontown (2-2) in nonconference play.
