With section play in full swing, teams in all four WPIAL girls volleyball classifications are making their move with impact victories on the court.
Others are hoping for bounce-back performances as the third week of section matches begins.
North Allegheny (Class 4A), Hampton (Class 3A), Freeport (Class 2A) and Bishop Canevin (Class A) remain at the top of their respective class rankings in the second Western Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association WPIAL polls released Monday morning.
One of the biggest jumps this week was in Class 2A where Burrell went from unranked in the top 10 to No. 6.
Also making their debuts in the top-10 polls are Butler and Mt. Lebanon in Class 4A, Knoch in Class 3A, Fort Cherry in Class 2A, and Beaver County Christian and Trinity Christian in Class A.
Each week, every WPIAL girls volleyball head coach will have the opportunity to vote for the teams who will appear in the top 10 for each classification.
Also, the Players of the Week are selected based on coaches nominations.
