WPIAL releases boys volleyball playoff brackets

North Allegheny and Derry are the top seeds for the WPIAL Class AAA and AA boys volleyball playoff tournaments.
The WPIAL released the brackets Monday morning.
Joining the Tigers as the top seeds in Class AAA are No. 2 Bethel Park, No. 3 Shaler and No. 4 Latrobe.
Only the top three seeds in Class AA — Derry, No. 2 Seton La Salle and No. 3 Our Lady of the Sacred Heart — received byes.
Ambridge, the No. 4 seed, will host Steel Valley in a first-round match. The Class AA field is 13 teams because Keystone Oaks and Steel Valley finished tied for fourth in Section 3.
All of the first-round matches in Class AAA and AA will be Tuesday, and the quarterfinals are Thursday.
The semifinals are May 21, and the championships and consolations will be held May 23 at Fox Chapel.
