High school roundup for April 30, 2019: Chartiers Valley blanks Trinity

Jason Orzechowski threw a five-hitter with five strikeouts to guide Chartiers Valley to a 3-0 win over Trinity (8-8, 4-5) in a Section 3-5A baseball game on a rainy Tuesday afternoon.
Griffin Beattie, Jason Orzechowski and Frank Peluso all had extra-base hits for Chartiers Valley (3-10, 3-5), which is in fifth place in Section 3, a half-game behind Trinity.
West Allegheny 19, Albert Gallatin 3 — No. 1 West Allegheny scored 11 runs in the top of the seventh to secure a Section 3-5A win. Cameron Pankyo-Morris was 3 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs, and Logan Malatak had a home run and five RBIs for the Indians (12-2, 9-0).
Keystone Oaks 13, Southmoreland 3 — Jeremy Wytiaz was 3 for 4 and Mark Wetmiller had two hits as No. 3 Keystone Oaks (10-2, 8-1) won in Section 3-3A.
Mason Basinger had the lone hit for Southmoreland (2-10, 0-8).
Jefferson-Morgan 27, Mapletown 0 (3 inn.) — Kyle Klayton, Owen Maddich, Jake Broadwater and Cole Tretinik all had three RBIs as Jefferson-Morgan (4-7, 4-3) won in Section 2-A.
Softball
Plum 20, Woodland Hills 0 (3 inn.) — Gabby Fischetti and Jillian Durst each had five RBIs as Plum (12-2, 11-1) won in Section 2-5A. Durst and Maura Marston each homered. Abbey Froehlich tossed a three-hitter with two strikeouts.
