Canon-McMillan wrestler Gerrit Nijenhuis commits to Purdue

Gerrit Nijenhuis is ramping up for the upcoming individual wrestling postseason, but first he made his college decision.
The Canon-McMillan junior 182-pounder verbally committed Sunday to Purdue, announcing his decision via Twitter.

Nijenhuis holds a career record of 124-16. He finished second at the WPIAL championships and third at the PIAA tournament in his weight class each of his first two seasons.
Saturday, Nijenhuis will go for his third individual Section 4-AAA championship as Chartiers Valley hosts the tournament.
