Western Pennsylvania had no shortage of standout scorers this season.
The WPIAL’s two leading scorers — Woodland Hills’ Keandre Bowles and Serra Catholic’s Jimmy Moon — are among seven seniors on the Trib 10 boys basketball all-stars for 2019.
But three talented juniors with Division I college basketball in their futures also cracked the list: Butler’s Ethan Morton, Sewickley Academy’s Isiah Warfield and Moon’s Donovan Johnson.
They also showed they know how to win.
Combined, the 10 players selected celebrated 220 victories, five WPIAL medals, one City League crown and two state championship golds.
JACKSON BLAUFELD | Allderdice
Senior, 6-4, guard
College: Dartmouth
Blaufeld averaged a team-best 19.4 points and 5.2 assists as Allderdice (22-6) won the City League title for the sixth year in a row. He also averaged 5.1 rebounds. The Dragons went 67-18 over the past three seasons. He has 1,148 career points.
KEANDRE BOWLES | Woodland Hills
Senior, 6-3, guard
College: uncommitted
Bowles was the WPIAL’s leading scorer at 28.9 points per game. He twice scored more than 40 points this season, including a school-record 43-point performance. The Wolverines (18-9) reached the WPIAL quarterfinals. Bowles has 1,240 career points.
KEENO HOLMES | Lincoln Park
Senior, 6-3, guard
College: Allegheny
Holmes started four years in a row in the WPIAL finals. He averaged 17.1 points and 4.6 assists for the Leopards (27-4), who won WPIAL and PIAA Class 3A titles this season. He has 1,658 career points.
DONOVAN JOHNSON | Moon
Junior, 6-7, forward
College: uncommitted
Johnson nearly averaged a double-double — 22.6 points and 9.4 rebounds — as Moon (28-2) regrouped and won the state Class 5A title after finishing as WPIAL runner-up. He has offers from Arizona, Duquesne, George Washington, USC Upstate and Xavier.
ETHAN MORTON | Butler
Junior, 6-5, guard
College: uncommitted
Morton led Butler to the WPIAL Class 6A finals for the second time in three years. He averaged 27.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 8.1 assists for the runner-up Golden Tornado (21-6). He lists 21 offers with Pitt, Penn State, Duquesne and West Virginia among them, along with Marquette, Michigan, Purdue, Virginia and others.
JIMMY MOON | Serra Catholic
Senior, 6-9, forward
College: Seton Hill
Moon’s play was gigantic for Serra Catholic (21-5), which reached the WPIAL Class 2A finals. He averaged 28.8 points, 14.4 rebounds and 4.5 blocks. He also showed a shooter’s touch by making 165 of 196 free throws and 49 3-pointers.
DAN PETCASH | Pine-Richland
Senior, 6-4, guard
College: Binghamton
Petcash averaged 21.7 points, five rebounds and 3.9 assists for Pine-Richland (22-4), which reached the WPIAL Class 6A semifinals and the PIAA second round. He has 1,156 career points as a two-year starter.
ANDREW RECCHIA | Mars

College: Shippensburg
Recchia made a game-winning 3-pointer in the final seconds of the WPIAL Class 5A final. He averaged 18.2 points and 3.6 assists for the Planets (27-2), which won consecutive WPIAL titles. His 86-percent success rate on 160 attempts at the foul line also was key.
RYAN STOWERS | Quaker Valley

Stowers could get to the rim but also made 3-pointers at a 40-percent rate (36 for 89). He averaged 23 points and six rebounds for the Quakers (21-5), who reached the WPIAL Class 4A finals three years in a row. He had 31 points and 18 rebounds in the finals.
