2 WPIAL baseball underclassmen named preseason All-Americans

Pine-Richland infielder Troy LaNeve and West Allegheny outfielder Austin Hendrick received preseason underclassmen All-American honors Friday from Perfect Game.
The amateur baseball scouting organization, which hosts showcases and tournaments across the country, chose 120 first-team picks nationwide from the current junior, sophomore and freshman classes.
LaNeve (6-0, 210) is a junior committed to Vanderbilt. Hendrick (6-1, 195) is a sophomore committed to Mississippi State.
Only five Pennsylvania players made the first-team list. The others were Archbishop Carroll outfielder Tyler Kehoe (South Carolina recruit), Harriton right-hander Jack Kochanowicz (Virginia) and William Penn Charter outfielder Sammy Siani (Duke).
Perfect Game named a first, second and third team, along with high honorable mention and honorable mention lists.
Mars right-handers Will Bednar and Joey Craska, Serra Catholic catcher Mark Black, Central Catholic outfielder Brandon Gelpi, Franklin Regional catcher Bryson Harper, Quaker Valley shortstop Ethan Moore, Canon-McMillan right-hander Cameron Weston and Hempfield right-hander Tyler Wiederstein earned high honorable mention.
Named honorable mention were Hampton catcher Burke Camper, South Fayette shortstop Christian Gabriel, Albert Gallatin first baseman Chandler Goodwin, Avonworth shortstop Turner Grau, Seneca Valley left-hander Cory Greiner and third baseman Jon McCullough, Central Catholic first baseman Greg Johnson, Hampton outfielder Casey Marshalwitz, Penn-Trafford first baseman Maclean Maund and catcher Cade Patterson, and Bethel Park right-hander Dalton Moore.
