10 WPIAL teams learn sites, times for PIAA girls volleyball quarterfinals

It was a strong start for WPIAL teams in the 2023 PIAA girls volleyball playoffs Tuesday night.
Of the 13 District 7 teams that qualified for the state postseason, 10 were victorious in the first round and advanced to the PIAA quarterfinals.
Here is the rundown of the quarterfinal matches on the western side of the PIAA bracket.
All matches are set for Saturday.
Class 4A
North Allegheny (17-1) vs. Dallastown (23-2) at Altoona at 2 p.m.
Canon-McMillan (16-4) vs. Landisville Hempfield (19-0) at Altoona at noon
Class 3A
Hampton (22-0) vs. Bald Eagle (19-2) at Punxsutawney at 4 p.m.
North Catholic (19-1) vs. Thomas Jefferson (18-2) at North Allegheny at 2 p.m.
Class 2A
Beaver (21-0) vs. Quaker Valley (17-3) at North Allegheny at noon
Freeport (21-2) vs. Philipsburg-Osceola (23-0) at Punxsutawney at noon
Class A
Serra Catholic (21-0) vs. Elk County Catholic (18-0) at Punxsutawney at 2 p.m.
Bishop Canevin (20-2) vs. Maplewood (17-3) at Slippery Rock HS at 11 a.m.
